I think just about EVERY crafty business owner I know is taking January as a time to work on organization after a insane holiday season, Christmas shows and time away from the business due to traveling for the holidays and spending time with family. I know I am.
Above is a picture of what my studio looks like today. Fairly clean compared to the mess I was facing a few weeks ago.
I am almost done and will be completely caught up come February. I got my tax books together which is never a pleasant job! On the other hand, good news, I am selling some of my crafty leftovers on my Etsy site. I was debating on opening a second Etsy site to list JUST craft supplies that I was selling but since it is not going to be a permanent thing, I just mixed the supplies in with my jewelry for now. Most beads are under $3.00 and the shipping for a secondary item is only $.50 on top of the initial $2.00 for the first item to ship!

Man you have a nice big crafty space. I totally think you should do a second Etsy supply store. I have one and am about to load it up with the random bits and pieces I can't find a home for during my mega clean. Hope you are hearting Ohio. My book publisher is in Cincinnati so I have spent some time there.
ReplyDeleteMegan--it's so true! I am struggling to get organized in between all of the activities of everyday life. I don't think I'm going to be done by February!
ReplyDeleteJen, of course I heart Ohio, I'm from here and it feels great to be home! I know North Light was based out of Cincinnati after reading your book :)
ReplyDeleteGood idea about the etsy site specifically for crafty supplies, I was considering doing that but I already listed a lot on my regular site. We'll see how it goes!
