Really! You can make these stylish coasters for under $1 and they are so easy to put together that you don't have to be a crafty superstar in order to create them.
Here is what you will need:
1. Measure the laminate squares, then use those dimensions to mark the cork paper. The pieces of laminate samples I had were 4" x 4", which worked out perfectly because the sheet of cork paper is 12" x 12" allowing me plenty of extra if I wanted to create even more!
2. Once you cut the cork paper out to be the same size as your laminate samples, peel off the back of the cork paper to expose the sticky side and place it on the back of the laminate sample.
Tip: It's okay if a little cork hangs over the laminate just a tad because you can still cut the cork after it is already adhered to the laminate. (I know from experience...)
The finished project!

Here is what you will need:
- Laminate Floor Samples. They come in various faux wood finishes and textures and are at most hardware stores for free. I had some packed away from when we were trying to decide whether or not to put down laminate or tile below or basement stairs. We went with tile but I am sure glad I picked these little samples up.
- Cork Scrapbooking Paper. Yes, there is such a thing and can be found at Michael's Arts and Crafts. The best part about this $.99 "paper" is that it has an adhesive back, similar to a sticker, which makes this project glue-free.
- Ruler, Scissors and a Pen
