About a year ago, my dad sent me a book as a gift from Amazon.com called Riches in Niches. It's mostly an encouraging inspirational book to help me get started with my business. It has some great real life stories and well as tips and tricksfor inspiration, now that I can call myself a business owner!
One of the things I learned from reading this book it the importance of blogging. I thought about blogging ever once and while, but I didn't realize the importance of it until reading this book. I agree, I think it is truly a really great idea. I can not only inform everyone and anyone of sales, projects and whatever else comes up but most importantly I want everyone to feel as though they know me and building relationships if of high importance in my book!
So I was thinking since I am just starting out blogging, after being in business a year, I will write 10 interesting facts about myself so you can get to know me. YAY! Ha ha.
1. I have 2 cats whom I call my 'production assistants' of MEWfashion. Mazda Bean is 6 and Stanley is two. They like to hold my fabric down to the table, re-arrange all my beads layed out and eat the thread out of my sewing machine. Some help huh?
2. I recently got married last September in South Carolina.
3. I have lived in 5 states: Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia and Texas. My parents live in South Carolina so a few years ago at this time I was living in Georgia, with a South Carolina tag on my car and a Florida drivers lisence. I made sure to get everything consolidated to one state after moving here to Texas!
4. I tried out for the famous "Project Runway" fashion reality show that is aired on Bravo last April. Needless to say, the competition was pretty intense and I wasn't one of the lucky twenty out of thousands of people who tried out to get picked. There's always a next time, right?
5. I am in love with anything circular. Circular patterns, washers, buttons, cd's...
You'll proabably see that a lot of the goodies I hand craft will have some sort of circle object on it or in it.
6. The most bazaar accident I had was when I drilled through my finger three years ago. I had to make jewelry out of nylon washers for my fashion show and I had to drill little holes in about 200 washers. I hadn't slept in it seemed like days so with the combination of sleep deprevation and drilling, I managed to drill through my middle finger nail. I am not sure how it happened but it sure hurt and I had a black finger nail for months.
7. On a different note, I am an only child.
8. I was on the weightlifting team in highschool. Everyone always cracks up when I tell them because I am so little. At the time I only weighed 90 lbs.

9. I had a 15 year old cornish rex named Sneaker that just recently passed just last year. A cornish rex is a very strange breed of cat! He has curly fur, a bald stomach, huge eyes and enormous ears. He was adorable and I made sure to add his picture to this blog so you can see just how cute he really was!
10. And last but not least, I am super excited about my website http://www.MEWfashion.com/ . It took me a lot longer than expected to get everything together. I didn't realize all the different things that go into running a business and a few problems arose, but I can't say I would have it any other way!
