Girl Scout Adventures!

I was once a Girl Scout, about hmmm....14 years ago. It was so much fun to be able to hang out with all my closest friends after school and go on trips together and other random fun stuff.
Anyhow, I was contacted to see if I was interested in teaching a troop here in Round Rock so they could receive their jewelry making badge. Of course I was! I would be a Girl Scout today if I wasn't to old. Being a Girl Scout is all about working together and using your creativity. At least that is what I got out of it.
The girls I am teaching in February have 4 projects they need to complete in order to earn their jewelry badge.
Above is the first project we are working on, which is making paper beaded bracelets out of a variety of different patterned and colored scrapbook paper.
The scrapbook paper!
This is the second project we are working on where the criteria is to use some sort of macrame technique (I was totally thinking about friendship bracelets the entire time!) and something other than beads. So this is what I came up with. I made it big enough so I can give it to John after I am done using it as a sample. It's the least I can do for him since he has been helping me so much with the business!
Variety of buttons!
Above is the third project which is using wire wrapping techniques.
And lastly, this is the last project we are going to do, which is make a keychain using plastic beads, metal charms, left over paper beads and tigertail wire. The objective of project 4 was to make something using a variety of materials.
I'll post some pictures once I teach the class, which isn't until February. I like to work ahead :)

  1. make them use recycled, like magazine and newspaper paper so its eco friendly not scrap booking paper!

  2. But I have a ton of scrapbooking paper that I need to 'recycle' it. I have had it for about 6 years and had no use for it...until now!
