U.R.E.C Handbags Sneak Preview

U.R.E.C: Upcycled, Recycled & Eco Concious
The new line of U.R.E.C. Handbags are here, well so far three of them are, but I plan on creating many many more!

So what's the scoop, why the name?
The new line of U.R.E.C bags by MEWfashion are exactly what they sound like. This new line of handbags incorporate pieces of vintage purses that weren't in the best shape but still had a few good componets left on them. The bags are my design and I created the patterns for them. So far there are only two different styles, but I plan to have about five. Making patterns for purses isn't always an easy task! I was very fortunate to have some friends donate purses to me that otherwise would have been living in a dumster or even worse, a landfill. In a time where everything seems to gear towards being 'eco-friendly', I thought "why not jump into this trend?" and that's just what I did.



I started with about 10 used purses and cut out the parts that could be of use in my designs.
The red bag shown above is all cut up is all ready to be sewn, so check back to see it completed sometime this week.
