Home of the Sampler is officially one of my favorite websites and a great way to find out about an array of indie businesses!
This April, not only can you score some earrings from MEWfashion, but also a wide variety of other things including gift bows made from measuring tapes and sewing charms by Sew Mary Ann, finger monsters by My Monster Hat and a bunch of other cool swag!
Above is my little blurb on the Home of the Sampler site since I am an April contributor
Here are some of the earrings you may end up recieving if you are signed up for the sampler!
Yep, I made all of those earrings and packaged them all too with the help of my mom!
As I was browsing through the different indie businesses that were contributing this month, I fell in love with two of them: Nikki Makes Scents and EKRA (Emily Kircher Recycling Artist).
Read on to find out more about these two completely different yet awesome indie businesses:
Emily Kircher Recycling Artist (EKRA)'s resin filled bottle cap necklaces are pictured above and you can find these beauties as well as other recycled goodness on her website: http://www.etchouse.com/ekra
Here is what Emily has to say about her company:
"Gimme that garbage! There are so many unwanted items out there that still have tons of potential. I save them from the garbage and transform them into new and functional items.Right now, I cut fabric salvaged from old clothes and linens and crochet it into purses and rugs, cut old plates and cups into tiles to mosaic found objects, use bottlecaps and books to make resin-filled magnets and pins, and thrift store yarn to crochet pouches and pet toys. However, I'm always looking for inspiration to use new types of garbage to make new things."

My other favorite find was by a company by the name of Nikki Makes Scents.Nikki Makes Scents contributed soap samples and unique one-of-a-kind votive candles to this months Sampler.
Nikki's Candles are all hand-crafted along with most of the Bath & Body products and incense she sells, which is available on her website: http://nikkimakesscents.com/
Words from Nikki:
"None of our candles are mass produced like department store candles that could be on the shelves for months. Almost all are made fresh to order. Therefore, no two candles look exactly alike."

So there you have it....check out the Sampler, these two talented ladies and thier indie-businesses, as well as all the other crafty folks who contributed to the Sampler this month!
