DIY: Trendy Lace Cuff Bracelet

DIY Trendy Lace Cuff Bracelet

Bold bracelets are very in right now!  Wearing a large, bright bracelet is an easy way to add punch to any look.

This bracelet was fairly simple to make, using items I already had around my house, in addition to a small can of spray paint and thick lace.
So get your girls together, follow these simple steps and create this cute cuff!
Supplies:
  • Lace. The thicker the better. My neighbor had given this to me but I know craft or fabric stores carry a wide variety of thick lace.
  • Card Stock or old file folder
  • Saran Wrap (not pictured)
  • Spray Paint. (I chose gold but any color will work!)
  • Glue (Elmer’s or Tacky Glue)
  • Paint Brush
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Measuring Tape
Step 1: Measure your wrist.
Step 2: Then measure and cut out two pieces of your lace one inch longer than the size of your wrist. I used two pieces of lace stacked on top of one another for added thickness.
Step 3: Make a circle out of the file folder or heavy paper two inches bigger than your wrist. Tape it in place and then wrap it with saran wrap. This will be what you form the lace cuff around. See the top right picture below.
Step 4: Once you have the two pieces of lace around the saran-wrapped-file-folder, apply glue using a paint brush. Let the glue dry and repeat two times. You will be applying three coats of glue to the lace. Just make sure you apply the glue generously.
Step 5: Once the glue is completely dry, remove the lace from the saran wrap. The lace should be rigid and able to hold its shape.
Step 6: Spray paint the lace in a well ventilated area.
Step 7: Add a small piece of Velcro to each end to hold the bracelet in place. See bottom left picture below.
That’s it! As mentioned earlier, this was a pretty simple DIY project and one that you can really have fun with.
